The unicorn is a legendary animal from European folklore that resembles a white horse with a large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead, and sometimes a goat’s beard and cloven hooves. First mentioned by the ancient Greeks, it became the most important imaginary animal of the Middle Ages and Renaissance when it was commonly described as an extremely wild woodland creature, a symbol of purity and grace, which could only be captured by a virgin. In the encyclopedias its horn was said to have the power to render poisoned water potable and to heal sickness.

centaur (from Greek: Κένταυρος, Kéntauros) or hippocentaur is a mythological creature with the head, arms, and torso of a human and the body and legs of a horse.

In early Attic and Beotian vase-paintings (see below), they are depicted with the hindquarters of a horse attached to them; in later renderings centaurs are given the torso of a human joined at the waist to the horse’s withers, where the horse’s neck would be.[citation needed]

This half-human and half-horse composition has led many writers to treat them as liminal beings, caught between the two natures, embodied in contrasted myths, both as the embodiment of untamed nature, as in their battle with the Lapiths (their kin), or conversely as teachers, like Chiron.

The centaurs were usually said to have been born of Ixion and Nephele (the cloud made in the image of Hera). Another version, however, makes them children of a certain Centaurus, who mated with the Magnesian mares. This Centaurus was either himself the son of Ixion and Nephele (inserting an additional generation) or of Apollo and Stilbe, daughter of the river god Peneus. In the later version of the story his twin brother was Lapithes, ancestor of the Lapiths, thus making the two warring peoples cousins.

Centaurs were said to have inhabited the region of Magnesia and Mount Pelion in Thessaly, the Foloi oak forest in Elis, and the Malean peninsula in southern Laconia. They continued to feature in literary forms of Roman mythology. A pair of them draw the chariot of Constantine the Great and his family in the Great Cameo of Constantine, which embodies wholly pagan imagery.

Falbala & Erik - Fantasy 2

An elf (plural: elves) is a type of supernatural being in Germanic mythology and folklore. Early elves, whose description depends almost entirely on Norse mythology texts, were a race of beings with magical skills, ambivalent towards humans and capable of either helping or hindering them. But Christianized societies were viewing elves in increasingly sinister light. In Anglo-Saxon England as early as the 10th century, Old English medical books attest to elves afflicting humans andlivestock by “elf-shots”. The German elf or alp was seen as an “addler” of people in medical books, but already in the High Middle Ages there were prayers warding against it as the agent causing nightmares, and eventually for the alp its identity as nightmare spirits became predominant.

In English literature of the Elizabethan era, “elves” became conflated with the “fairies” of Romance culture, so that the two terms began to be used interchangeably. Romanticist writers were influenced by this (particularly Shakespearean) notion of the “elf,” and reimported the word Elf in that context into the German language.

A number of ballads in the British Isles and Scandinavia, perhaps stemming from the medieval period, describe human encounters with the elf, elven-king, elf-maid, etc. The same ballad type (cognate ballads) are often disseminated over several countries. Some common motifs, which may also be seen in British and Scandinavian folklore, are elves enticing men with their dance, and causing death, either by elf-shot or entirely unexplained. In Scandinavia, the elf are often conflated with the beings called the huldra or huldufólk.

The “Christmas elves” of contemporary popular culture are of relatively recent tradition, popularized during the late 19th century in the United States, in publications such as Godey’s Lady’s Book. Elves entered the 20th-century high fantasy genre in the wake of works published by authors such as J. R. R. Tolkien, for which, see Elf (Middle-earth).

This so pretty pictures are taken by the wonderful Erik Bayn (Mister Virtual World 2013) who asked me to come on one of his pictures and that he wants to do a fantasy shoot. Ofc I had to say yes as I am always happy if I can do fantasy shoots in any ways possible and also as I think Erik comes with an already very good eye for the light and details of a picture I was glad and honored to do this with him together. I was flashed that Erik likes the classy fantasy way and I hope we will be possible to do some again in the near future as he is a very patient photographer with also a huge taste of creativity. Out of 5 pics I picked my 3 faves to share them with you.

About the Story:

Jay Gatsby, the protagonist of the novel, is a young millionaire businessman and opaque. Although he held in his house on Long Iceland dance parties for the New York society, he is lonely. All he wants is to bring back the past and to be back with the love of his life, Daisy together. But in time, the Gatsby fought in France in World War I, Daisy married the millionaire and former football player Tom Buchanan and gave birth to a daughter named Pammy.
The narrator of the story is Nick Carraway (second cousin of Daisy), a young stockbroker who moves into the old house next door Gatsby.
Daisy is between her husband Tom Buchanan and Gatsby torn until they caused an accident at the wheel of a new car Gatsby, in which Myrtle Wilson, Tom’s mistress dies. Gatsby wants to take the blame for love. Tom is desperate Myrtles husband, George Wilson, pointing out that Gatsby was the owner of the car accident. Concludes Wilson, Gatsby had caused the accident. Then Wilson shoots Gatsby and then himself no one except the narrator Nick and Gatsby’s father, Henry C. Gatz (Gatsby’s real name was James Gatz) appears to Gatsby’s funeral, and a man who previously in a strange way about the “authenticity” the books in Gatsby’s library and expressed by its peculiar appearance, a kind of key role – in particular with regard to the interpretation of experimental education Gatsby – plays.

P.S.: translated by Google

The story is telling us what?

That money doesn´t make us happy? That we are alone sometimes even we have tons of people around us? That you should fight for the love of your life? That destiny can give you a kick in the butt if you try to sacrifice for someone? That the most lucky people are them who have nothing?

SAS - Xanadu Gold Gown1-2048

I was reading some comments in the last time on my Blog besides the ones who want to sell me Viagra or surgeries for my “Penis” (funny that I am a woman) or the ones who are just happy that they found an outfit they searched and fell in love, that I get many who give me advices to write more in my posts where I included just a stylecard and the ones who give me advices that my english has some issues in the gramma if I write something.

So, how I better do it?

What is the best? Them who knows me KNOW I am an european and that my mainlanguage is NOT english.

So how I do it now?

If I write a text in my blogs it takes me around min. an hour longer to get the post ready because I have to search words in a translator, because I have to think what and how I write something now, because a translator if I use full texts don´t help me at all as then it comes out just bullshit.

So how I do it now?

Ofc I could start to brag how fabolous I think the texture and the patterns are, but I think you can see that already on the picture as mine are not that small. Ofc I can write what I dreamed in the last night about the outfit I got and how it inspired me into something who is the most time totally ridicolous and pushed way to high.

So how I do it now?

The most of us blog what we like and what we can represent as good quality as our name is behind, before or inside the Blogname and we usually don´t want to destroy ourselfs. So if we blog it, with a nice quality picture, why writing a roman about it hoooooow fantastic we think it is? If we like it, we blog it. Very easy. Ofc besides the matter of time we spend for pictures and the roman to brag about the outfit we maybe get more then we would love to blog as our day has also just 24 hours and we have a RL also like all of you. I know some forget that.

So how I do it now?

For me I hope on the understanding from everyone if I don´t type to every post I publish a roman. Otherwise I need to write it in my language to speed it up and then nobody can read it anymore so it makes no sence either as I don´t expect that anyone will push my text in a translator to understand what I wrote in a bad translated english.

What I can say is that I do my best to support the Designers who give me the chance to blog for them and send me their creations to showcase them in nice high quality pictures. I am thankful for every one of them but if I think that a good picture and a stylecard is enough, pls respect it as it is really a pain for me to write longer texts in english.

Enya began her musical career in 1980, when she briefly joined her family band Clannad before leaving to perform solo. She gained wider recognition for her music in the 1986 BBC series The Celts. Shortly afterwards, her 1988 album Watermark propelled her to further international fame and she became known for her distinctive sound, characterised by voice-layering, folk melodies, synthesised backdrops and ethereal reverberations. She has performed in 10 languages.

For me she is a wonderful and talented woman and I follow her career since I can think. For this picture I choosed one of her songs I heard in the 90’s which came out 1991 and is called “Carribean Blue”. Her voice and her different style of singing her songs let me think about my life and my future and also my past. I adore this woman who is stepping her career without drama or disasters and I am very happy and honored to share her song here with you. Enjoy!

What is Trust?

Trust is both and emotional and logical act. Emotionally, it is where you expose your vulnerabilities to people, but believing they will not take advantage of your openness. Logically, it is where you have assessed the probabilities of gain and loss, calculating expected utility based on hard performance data, and concluded that the person in question will behave in a predictable manner. In practice, trust is a bit of both. I trust you because I have experienced your trustworthiness and because I have faith in human nature.

We feel trust. Emotions associated with trust include companionship, friendship, love, agreement, relaxation, comfort.

There are a number of different ways we can define trust. Here are the dimensions of trust and consequent definitions.

Definition 1: Trust means being able to predict what other people will do and what situations will occur. If we can surround ourselves with people we trust, then we can create a safe present and an even better future.

Definition 2: Trust means making an exchange with someone when you do not have full knowledge about them, their intent and the things they are offering to you.

Definition 3: Trust means giving something now with an expectation that it will be repaid, possibly in some unspecified way at some unspecified time in the future.

Definition 4: Trust means enabling other people to take advantage of your vulnerabilities—but expecting that they will not do this.

Sudan /sˈdæn/ or /sˈdɑːn/;[7] Arabic: السودان‎, as-Sūdān), officially the Republic of the Sudan[8] (Arabic: جمهورية السودان‎, Jumhūrīyat as-Sūdān), sometimes called North Sudan,[9][10][11] is an Arab state in North Africa (it is also considered to be part of the Middle East).[12] It is bordered by Egypt to the north, the Red Sea to the northeast, Eritrea and Ethiopia to the east, South Sudan to the south, the Central African Republic to the southwest, Chad to the west, and Libya to the northwest. The population of Sudan is a combination of indigenous inhabitants of Nile Valley, and descendants of migrants from the Arabian Peninsula. Due to the process of Arabisation common throughout the rest of the Arab world, today Arab culture predominates in Sudan. The overwhelming majority of the population of Sudan adheres to Islam. The Nile divides the country into eastern and western halves.[13]

The people of Sudan have a long history extending from antiquity which is intertwined with the history of Egypt. Sudan suffered seventeen years of civil war during the First Sudanese Civil War (1955–1972) followed by ethnic, religious and economic conflicts between the Muslim Arabs of Northern Sudan and the mostly animist and Christian Nilotes of Southern Sudan.[14][15] This led to the Second Sudanese Civil War in 1983. Because of continuing political and military struggles, Sudan was seized in a bloodless coup d’état by colonel Omar al-Bashir in 1989, who thereafter proclaimed himself President of Sudan.[16] The civil war ended with the signing of a Comprehensive Peace Agreement which granted autonomy to what was then the southern region of the country. Following a referendum held in January 2011, South Sudan seceded on 9 July 2011 with the consent of Sudan.[17][18]

A member of the United Nations, Sudan also maintains membership with the African Union, the Arab League, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as serving as an observer in the World Trade Organization.[19] Its capital is Khartoum, which serves as the political, cultural and commercial centre of the nation. Officially a federal presidential representative democratic republic, the politics of Sudan are widely considered by the international community to take place within an authoritarian system due to the control of the National Congress Party (NCP) of the judiciary, executive and legislative branches of government.
